DURABLE DEVELOPMENT ZONE

ENVIRONMENT

Durable development is a concept that dates back to 1987. It appears in the UN’s report: World Commission on Environment and Development. The realisation of this notion in human activity is however recent.

Durable development is development that answers the needs of the present without compromising the capacity of future generations to fulfill their own. (Qc, law on durable development, art. 2)
